So we've been cruising the trends from Bridal Fashion Week, and can't help but swoon over some of our favorite looks.
One of my personal fave's - the bridal princess cape! This one by Lazaro is stunning. Short capes, sheer capes, capes with delicate flowers, you name it, we love it! What a great alternative to a veil, and also an option to add a conservative layer to a church ceremony if you are wanting to cover your shoulders and arms. Expect to see some dream-worthy styles at Savvy Bride come January.
A trend I can absolutely get behind - the wedding jacket. Anything that can be re-worn again and again (Duh... we own a bridal consignment store!) is obviously going to be a huge hit for us. This Monique Lhuillier is an edgy alternative to a pashmina or faux fur sole, and an easy one to justify spending a bit more on since you will be wearing again and again. Plus, how amazing would those photos look? Show that attitude girl!
One that was a hit or a miss for us - bridal sleeves. This look by Idan Cohen is fabulous and totally completes the look. Some others we saw (picture those inflatable arm sleeves you wore in the pool when you were five) were "interesting" and a little far fetched for us. Plus if they don't fit perfectly, you'll be pulling them up all night.
Tea length dresses - great option for a daytime wedding. Any bride wishing to channel an Audrey Hepburn-esque wedding style, this Galia Lahav design is a serious contender. What we love about this style, is you can go sleek and sophisticated or flirty and whimsical. Plus, you get to show off some killer heals. Just make sure the cut hits you at the right spot, mid-calf-length is classically perfect. We'll have several amazing styles for you at Savvy Bride including a Hayley Paige and Modern Trousseau number that will have you dreaming of the 1950's.
I'll admit, we are suckers for anything blush tones, and are excited to see so much on the runway. Shades of peach, pink and nude were everywhere. This dress from Liancarlo is the perfect play of femininity while still being uber bridal. We will have some solid options for you, if you're feeling this trend as much as we are. Hayley Paige is magical when it comes to different shades and we jump at the chance to bring these to our own racks.
If you've been hitting that spin class extra hard lately and want to show off those gams, you'll love this one. The "minis" are in for 2018, and we love this as a reception look, especially for the summer heat. This Mark Zunino number is soft and sexy, without being scandalous. Just make sure you are comfortable with the amount of skin you're showing so you can prepare for that off-comment Grandma might give you once she's had a glass of wine!
Another of my personal faves (and actually a style I myself wore for my reception), this Naeem Khan jumpsuit is oh-so flattering and comfortable for a long night of dancing. For the brides who don't want to feel constricted, or prefer not to wear the traditional dress (who says you have to?) this is such a great option. We haven't managed to land any of these yet, but they are close to the top of my list. Hopefully as this trend catches on, Savvy Bride can scoop some in no time.
One trend I sort of consider an accessory trend, is the shoulder bridal bows. Delicate and feminine, these bow straps can be easily added to any dress, especially if it's strapless. This style almost definitely looks better on a minimalist dress such as this Elie Saab gown.
Last but definitely not least is the minimalist look. The cut has to be perfect, such as this Lihi Hod gown, for it to be flawlessly pulled-off. We love a good accessory, but with this style, your gorgeous ring is pretty much the only statement piece you need. If you've got a rockin' bod, this one's for you, because this style shows all your good stuff!
So all-in-all, we are loving these trends for the upcoming year, and are elated that we have so many of these options on our racks. It's always a good idea to stay true to your personal style when choosing a gown, but we bet you'd be surprised if you tried on something a little different, even if it was just to try it on. This is one of the only times you'll get to wear something so fabulous, so why not make it fun?! We list all of our gowns on www.savvybrideboutique.com so you can go see for yourself what might be right for you.
