So if you're anything like me (or 99% of soon-to-be Brides), you'll find your dream dress and then obsess for the next 6 months over how to do hair and makeup.
You'll start researching things like "best hairstyles for sweetheart dress" or "What lipstick goes best with fair complexions" or the one I obsessed with, "how to prevent frizzy hair on your wedding day." And guess what, it rained, and I still got frizzy hair! Ugh!!!
When it gets a little slow in the store, we love to dress up in the dresses, accessories, and put together "look books" with some of our gowns. We pick our fave IG makeup artists, throw some flowers in there, and BAM... Pinterest worthy posts.
So here are a few of our favorites, and why we chose this specific look. Spoiler alert- there is a method to the madness of choosing which hairstyle and makeup look would look best based on the style of dress. Check out the few below and let us know your thoughts (and submit your wedding day inspo if you have one!)

The Ethereal Look
This look is a big one for a lot of Brides. We hear lots of descriptive words like "flowy," "whimsical," and "beachy." We absolutely love this look, and it literally looks good on any size Bride. With such a soft dress, it looks best with a soft hairstyle. Curls pinned low on the neck, a few pieces maybe around your face, a beautiful hair vine mixed in there, will tie this look from head to toe. Earthy tones for your makeup is a must on this one. I'm guilty of always loving a strong lip, but airing on the ethereal side, a soft pink or nude lip would be perfect. You will float down that aisle in this look, and amplifying your natural beauty is a fail-proof way to knock your fiance's socks off.

The Modern Southern Bell
We were so excited to get this Kate McDonald dress in the store! She is a Charleston, SC designer, and no doubt nails a modernized southern bell dress. We weren't totally sold on the hairstyle the model is wearing in this pic, and the reason is because the dress is so ornate at the top, we think having hair down does a little bit of a disservice to the beauty of this design. So instead, we paired this dress with a chic low bun. Whats's great about this hairstyle, is it will last all night. And it is so classic, that with the modern beading on the dress, it elevates the Southern Bell look to a whole new level. Traditional, yet still fashion forward. We also loved the makeup look with this hairstyle. A strong eyeliner will draw attention to your eyes, and spring add an element of edge to your day. Small to medium size studs in a complimenting sparkle will tie your look together seamlessly. So if you are describing your wedding day look as wanting to be "traditional yet modern and edgy", this look is for you! Just make sure you have extra tissues and your makeup handy in case you are a crier during the speeches!!

The Sexy Siren
Ooohhh Mama! I'm known for telling our Brides, "it's your wedding day, go all the way!" I just love a show-stopping gown with a full glam makeup look. I think it's because I've never had my makeup done other than getting married, so in my mind, I want to look like a movie star on the red carpet.
This dress has a classic neckline shape, and romantic curls looks stellar. And since the dress has no beading, adding a little sparkle in the form of a headpiece amplifies the look. A lot of brides think that to add bling, you need to add a belt. This look is a perfect example of how to emphasize each part's beauty without having to accessories like crazy. The ruching on the dress will accentuate your curves and needs nothing else. The headpiece is a statement piece, and therefore you can forgo a necklace and just have simple stud earrings. And this makeup? WOW. Very bold, very glam, yet the earthy colors accentuates her natural features not overpowers her. So if you're thinking sexy, smoky and glam for your wedding day, this one is for you!
Savvy Bride is always putting together look-books and we post them on our IG. So if you have a fave look that you want featured, or if you need input on what might be best, hit us up! We would love to put a few looks together for you!
